Productivity Suite
Bill Allison will discuss the OE Productivity Suite initiative. Topics will include the status of contracts for on-premise software and the current state of the move to a new integrated email/calendar system.
He will discuss the road map for engaging campus in a variety of forums to discover underlying concerns about the transition and elicit suggestions and priorities during implementation of the system.
Regarding the Productivity Suite initiative, its goal is to provide faculty, staff, and students with a comprehensive, widely used set of software tools that can aid collaboration and increase productivity. These tools include the suite of Adobe products that has already been made available to campus, other desktop productivity software, plus an outsourced system for email and calendaring. While calendaring and email are currently separate systems, the new system chosen will have email and calendar on the same system. This integration will offer many benefits for the user experience and also the challenges accompanying roll out of any new, widely used system.
