Reflections on Two Decades of Information Security in Research and Education

Time:
Friday, September 26, 2014 - 10:30am to 12:00pm
Location:
150 University Hall
Speaker:
Michael Sinatra, Network Engineer
Description:

"Security talks are all the rage now, possibly because computer security
is so horrible, or is at least perceived as such. In the process of
trying to figure out why security seems so bad now, I look back on
things we actually got right, what we (especially I) got wrong, what we
can do in the near term to make things better, and what the future
holds. For that last component--the future--it will be obvious that I
can't hope to be accurate, but I will try to be entertaining."
